FoX 880 avec RLM Composites

Conçu dans la lignée du FoX 1020 et toujours en collaboration avec le chantier RLM Composites , le FoX 880 est un véritable concentré de performances, de volume et d’habitabilité. De proportions généreuses sans toutefois tomber dans l’extrême, ce voilier est pourvue d’une carène polyvalente, aussi à l’aise dans les surfs sous spi qu’au près dans la brise, qui devrait se révéler efficace en régate. Sacrifier les performances sous voile à la jauge n’est cependant pas la philosophie du FoX 880 qui est avant tout destiné à procurer sensations et plaisirs à son équipage. Le plan de voilure est généreux mais reste facile, alors que les appendices sont travaillés pour combiner puissance, cap et contrôle. La grande majorité des manœuvres sont regroupé au milieu du cockpit, laissant la partie avant, protégée par de larges hiloires, accueillir les équipiers au repos.

L’intérieur est volumineux et décloisonné pour offrir un maximum d’espace et de lumière, grâce également au large hublot de roof surplombant le carré. L’agencement, qui inclus une cabine double privative à l’arrière, permet de loger jusqu’à 4 adultes et 2 enfants, ainsi que de se retrouver à 6 autour d’un repas dans le carré. Le cabinet de toilette est également une large soute dans laquelle pourront être installés des équipements supplémentaires ou pour remiser tout matériel devant rester au sec.

Tout comme pour le 10.20, plusieurs configuration d’appendices seront adaptables (inclus : biquille et quille relevable) et ce FoX 880 sera disponible à différents stades de finition, grâce à un mode de construction léger, robuste et modulable : le contreplaqué-époxy

1. Kit complet avec manuel d’instruction co-rédigé par le chantier et l’architecte

2. Bateau livré hors d’eau, hors d’air incluant : coque pontée, structurée et partiellement aménagée + moteur, appendices et cadènes posés + finition extérieure laquée.

3. Bateau entièrement fini, prêt à naviguer.

Following on from its bigger brother the 10.20, FoX Tech and the yardRLM Composites present the FoX 880:

Starting from the fact that performances and accommodation spaciousness are the two main criterions of a genuine cruiser-racer, we designed the FoX 880 so that she has plenty of both to offer! With generous proportions without going extreme, she features a versatile hull shape that will be as efficient surfing down the waves as beating its way upwind and should prove efficient around the racecourse.

If the boat was definitely designed to have legs while racing under IRC or ORC, scarifying raw performance to a rating rule isn’t the philosophy of the FoX 880. Instead, she was designed to offer thrills and the best of times to her crew. The sail plan is high aspect and generous but remains easy to handle while the appendages were optimized to combine power, control and pointing ability. Most of the control lines run all the way back the rear part of the cockpit, leaving the front half the ideal resting place for the friends or family, protected by some large cockpit coamings.

The spacious and clutter free interior offers plenty of volume and light, thanks to the large portlight overhanging the saloon. The layout, which includes a private double cabin at the back, can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children while 6 people can gather around a meal in the saloon. The WC compartment also doubles as a large storage or technical room, useful to fit any extra equipment or store any kit that has to stay dry.

As for the 10.20, several appendage layouts can be adapted (including: lifting keel and twin keels) and thanks to its light and robust construction material (plywood-epoxy) this FoX 880 will be available at three different stages of the construction:

1. Complete kit with instruction manual co-written by the yard and designers

2. Boat delivered half finished including: hull with deck, structure, structural furniture, appendages, engine and chainplates fitted, with exterior finish painted.

3. Complete boat, ready to sail.
